Scope of Practice

Bill King focuses his practice primarily in the areas of business litigation (e.g., contract disputes, business torts related to fraud, interference, trade libel/slander, misappropriation of trade secrets, and collections) and transactional law (e.g., business development, planning and formation, contract development and negotiation, trademark/licensing).  He also specializes in construction law (e.g., private/public works, mechanic’s liens, collections, contract negotiations) and real estate negotiations and litigation; estate planning/probates and conservatorships; and related matters.

Formerly of Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold LLP, an American Lawyer Top 150, international litigation firm, Mr. King has extensive trial, arbitration, and mediation experience in both Federal and State Court.  He has represented clients in a broad range of litigation matters involving complex construction and surety matters, mechanic’s liens/job rights, and collections, business disputes, including fraud claims, business torts, real estate and general contract disputes.  He represents clients, preparing and negotiating contracts ranging from partnership/LLC agreements, construction, leases, music production and artist agreements, trademarks, and general commercial matters. 
 
Affiliations, Activities and Accomplishments

Mr. King is admitted to the California Bar (1998).  He is admitted to the U. S. District Court for the State of California, Central, Southern, Northern and Eastern Divisions.  He is also a member of the Orange County Bar Association and CALPASC (California Professional Association of Specialty Contractors)

Education

Mr. King earned his B.A (1990) in Psychology from UCLA/California State University, Fullerton.  He then earned his M.A. (1993) in Psychology from Azusa Pacific University before going on to earn his J.D. (1998) from the Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.  At Loyola, Mr. King was a member of the Willem C. Vis International Moot Arbitration Competition team winning the Best Brief Award intramurally and orally arguing on international sales of goods issues against 83 other international teams in Vienna, Austria.
