Current Scope of Practice
Kristin L. Connor manages Horizon’s San Diego Office. She focuses her practice primarily in the areas of Family Law, Real Estate Litigation and Real Estate Transactional work. Formerly of the San Diego District Attorney’s Office and Kimball, Tirey & St. John, Ms. Connor has extensive trial experience representing clients in both Real Estate and Family Matters. Ms. Connor has extensive experience in matters relating to property disputes, easement disputes, tree root damage, water drainage issues, condominium conversions, failure to disclose, homeowner association problems, lease drafting and review, and commercial and residential unlawful detainer matters. As to family law issues, Ms. Connor has extensive experience in child custody and support, dissolution of marriage, restraining order and guardianship matters.
Representative Matters
Ms. Connor currently represents clients in a variety of matters set for trial ranging from a failure to disclose unpermitted and faulty construction to an out of state change is child custody. In a recent trial, Ms. Connor obtained a change in custody of a minor child from mother to father based upon criminal acts by the mother. Her other victories include a matter where a homeowner association banned short term rentals at a condominium complex. Ms. Connor succeeded in obtaining an injunction against the association, which allowed the owners to maintain their rentals at the beach front complex.
Affiliations, Activities and Accomplishments
Ms. Connor is admitted to the California Bar (1998). She is admitted to the U. S. District Court for the State of California, Southern Division. She is also a licensed California Real Estate Broker.
Education
Ms. Connor earned her B.A (1994) in History from the California State University at San Marcos. She earned her J.D. (1998) from the University of San Diego School of Law. During law school, Ms. Connor served as the Lieutenant Governor of Communications for the American Bar Association, Law Student Division.
